Dawg Days of Summer

Stockton State Park invites dog owners and dog lovers to enjoy a Dawg Days of Summer event!

The event will begin at the South Shelter, with the following activities:

  • 6 p.m. – treat toss and best "bad dog" antidote contest (Participants must bring treats.)
  • 6:30 p.m. – talent contest
  • 7 p.m. – largest/smallest dog contest
  • 7:30 p.m. – costume contest (categories: funniest, most creative, best owner-pet combo)

The event will conclude with a glow stick pet hike starting at the campground check station at 8:30 p.m. Participants will bring their own glow sticks and will hike around the East Campground loop while showing off their glowing pet.

Pets must be kept on a leash, and all park rules must be followed during this event. Participants are also asked to not bring dogs that are unfriendly to people or other dogs/animals, as our goal is for everyone, including pets, to enjoy this event.

This event is free and open to the public, and there is no need to register. For more information, call the park at 417-276-4259.
