BEING A FRIEND!

If it weren't for someone taking interest in a house or piece of land, the world would have no historic sites. It is only through the efforts of interested people that preservation occurs. One such group of persons is the Friends of Fort Davidson. They started just a few years ago and have provided atmosphere at several of our smaller events. Several friends are interested in performing Civil War-era music at our events. One person in that group, John Jones, works hard to handcraft his own musical instruments.

There are many opportunities for friends to help, especially in educating the public and future generations about the Civil War. We have friends that make their own tack and saddles, and Civil War-era clothing. Others can speak on special subjects like Iron County in the Civil War. But the friends group is looking for more people and even if you feel you don't have special training, we are always looking for people to greet and help the museum staff during our busier times. There are no dues to be a member because this is a work group.

If you want to become an active member of the Friends of Fort Davidson, please fill out the application form and return it to Charles "Terry" Cadenbach, president of the Friends of Fort Davidson, at the fax number or address shown on the form.
