On the following days (actual or observed), staff will not be available, and the Capitol, including the Missouri State Museum, will be closed: Christmas Eve; Christmas Day; New Year’s Eve; New Year’s Day; and Jan. 2, 2023. On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Lincoln’s Birthday and Presidents Day, the Capitol will be open, but staff will not be available.

Temporary Hours of Operation
The State Museum is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and is offering group tours of the state Capitol of limited size, available by reservation only. To reserve a tour, click here or call the State Museum at 573-751-2854.
Tours
Group size maximum: 30
February through May
Tours start at the top of the hour and at the half hour beginning at 9 a.m. (excluding the noon hour). The last tour begins at 4 p.m. (reservations required) Monday through Thursday, and at 11:30 on Friday. Tours may be scheduled at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
June through August
Tours start at the top of the hour beginning at 9 a.m. (excluding the noon hour), with the last reservable tour beginning at 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. on Friday. Tours may be scheduled at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
September and October
Tours start at the top of the hour and at the half hour beginning at 9 a.m. (excluding the noon hour). The last tour begins at 4 p.m. (reservations required) Monday through Thursday, and at 11:30 on Friday. Tours may be scheduled at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
November through January
Tours start at the top of the hour beginning at 9 a.m. (excluding the noon hour), with the last reservable tour beginning at 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. on Friday. Tours may be scheduled at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Lohman Building hours
- March 1 through first weekend in December
10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday
- Tuesday after first weekend in December through February

Union Hotel hours
These hours are also for the Elizabeth Rozier Gallery inside the Union Hotel.
