Opening Day

3/1/2023 | Roaring River State Park | Cassville, MO

Come visit Roaring River State Park on March 1 for Opening Day! This is a time-honored tradition dating back to 1928, when Roaring River became a state park. Join us on this historic day and catch your daily limit of four fish. All anglers age 16 and older must have a state fishing permit. All anglers must purchase a daily trout tag at the park store.

Roaring River has three fishing zones with different regulations. A map and more information regarding fishing rules and regulations can be found at the park store.

In addition to premier trout fishing, visitors to Roaring River can enjoy miles of hiking trails, as well as lodging, camping and on-site dining facilities, and can see the deepest cave spring in the United States, with a current depth of 472 feet. The park store will open at 9 a.m. Feb. 28 and stay open until 7 p.m. March 1. The nature center will be open from 10 a.m. to noon Mar 1.
