Canceled: How to Stop Invasive Superweeds

3/14/2020 | Rock Bridge Memorial State Park | Columbia, MO

This event has been canceled.

Non-native, aggressively spreading plants threaten native woodlands and prairies and their wildlife, and make it difficult for landowners to use land as they wish.

This training opportunity will begin at the Rock Bridge Memorial State Park office with an indoor presentation. During a driving tour of various sites in Columbia, we’ll see how bad invasive plants can be and learn to identify them and their native look-alikes. Staff will demonstrate treatment techniques. The day will culminate with a short walk in the park to Coyote Bluff to enjoy and learn about the native woodlands and glades that are at risk.

Participants will need to provide their own transportation between locations. Attendance of the outdoor portion is optional.

This program is designed for those ages 12 and up. The program is free, but space is limited. To reserve your spot, call 573-564-3476.
