Photographs of Progress: Images of Black Missourians at teh Turn of the Twentieth Century

In celebration of Black History Month, the Missouri State Museum has created a pop-up exhibit featuring historic portraits of black Missourians. The exhibit introduces viewers to the use of photography as a means of empowering and documenting the black community. The photographs capture images of people struggling to overcome discrimination and find a better life for themselves and their descendants.

The pop-up exhibit will be hosted by Jefferson City Parks and Recreation at the LINC, 1299 Lafayette St., Jefferson City, Mo.
