Rough areas, minor debris and downed trees can occur at any time on any section of the trail due to weather variations. Staff and equipment could be encountered on the trail as clean up or repairs are completed. During winter months, snow and ice are not removed from the trail or trailheads so extra caution may be needed. All users should be alert to these possible conditions when on the trail and should never go around fenced off closures.
Area flooding also can affect the trail. For information about Missouri River levels and how they may impact the Katy Trail, visit the Potential Flood Locations page.
