VICTORIAN TEA IS JULY 12 AT BATTLE OF LEXINGTON STATE HISTORIC SITE
JEFFERSON CITY, MO., JUNE 30, 2008 -- Step back in time and enjoy a Victorian tea party on Saturday, July 12, at Battle of Lexington State Historic Site in Lexington. Sponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, the event is 1 to 4 p.m. at the Anderson House. It is free and open to the public.
As you enjoy a cup of tea and some desserts, learn the "language of the fans." Materials will be available for guests to make their own Victorian fan.
This event is being held in conjunction with the "Ladies Sentiments" event throughout the town. Lexington merchants will display and demonstrate crafts and gifts from the past, such as friendship albums, journals, quilts, silhouettes and fancy-work.
