PIANO RECITAL IS JUNE 14 AT BATTLE OF LEXINGTON STATE HISTORIC SITE

JEFFERSON CITY, MO., MAY 30, 2008 -- Battle of Lexington State Historic Site will host a piano recital at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 14. Sponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, the event is in the site's Anderson House. It is free and open to the public.

Spencer Huston, a pianist and teacher at the University of Missouri -- Kansas City's Conservatory of Music, will fill the Anderson House with piano music. In honor of Flag Day, he will play several patriotic songs. Advance reservations are required, as there is limited seating.

Huston has a master's of music degree in piano performance from UMKC's Conservatory of Music. Along with his teaching position at UMKC, he is also an adjunct assistant professor at Kansas City, Kan., Community College and teaches piano lessons. He remains an active performer with frequent performances in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
