MONTAUK STATE PARK OPEN HOUSE IS JUNE 7
JEFFERSON CITY, MO., MAY 21, 2008 -- The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will hold an open house on Saturday, June 7, at Montauk State Park near Salem. The open house is 8 to 9:15 p.m. in the outdoor amphitheater, which is located in the park's campground. The meeting is open to the public.
Recent accomplishments at the park, including trout stream habitat improvements, will be highlighted during the informal meeting. Visitors will be invited to share comments and ask questions on the park's goals, objectives and future plans. In event of rain, the meeting will be moved to the J. Ben Searcy Building across the road from the park's lodge.
The open house is part of an ongoing effort by the department to ensure that citizens have input on facilities and services offered in state parks and historic sites.
Montauk State Park is located 22 miles southwest of Salem on Hwy. 119 in Dent County.
