INFORMATIONAL MEETING IS JUNE 6 FOR
WATKINS WOOLEN MILL STATE PARK AND STATE HISTORIC SITE

JEFFERSON CITY, MO., MAY 21, 2008 -- The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will hold an informational meeting on Friday, June 6, to discuss issues related to Watkins Woolen Mill State Park and State Historic Site near Lawson. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the facility's visitor center.

Staff from the facility will be present to discuss current projects as well as projects that have been completed within the past year. A discussion of proposed future projects will include improvements to the bicycling and walking trail. Visitors are invited to share comments on the facility and its services.

The meeting is part of an ongoing effort by the department to ensure that the public has input on facilities and services provided in state parks and historic sites.

Watkins Woolen Mill State Park and State Historic Site is located off Interstate 35, seven miles east of Kearney, off Highway 92 on Highway RA.
