Keep Baker Beautiful Day

4/29/2023 | Sam A. Baker State Park | Patterson, MO

Sam A. Baker State Park is one of the most beautiful parks in the state, and we could use your help in getting it ready for the upcoming visitation season. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources and Sam A. Baker State Park are proud to present the 30th annual Keep Baker Beautiful Day, to be held on Saturday, April 29, between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

This special event not only commemorates Earth Day, but is also a great and fun way of connecting with the great outdoors. There will be assignments for all ages. Mulching, gardening and litter patrol are just a few of the projects planned for the day. All are welcome! A crew leader from the park will lead each group through their assigned service. We will match all service projects to age and ability of the volunteers. A free picnic lunch will be provided.

Participants should bring a pair of work gloves and drinking water, wear closed-toe shoes, and dress for the weather. In the case of severe weather, the event will be canceled. However, a little rain has never stopped us in the past. Call 573-856-4514 or 573-856-4411 to find out if the event is still on. Meet at Picnic Shelter #1 behind the park store around 8:30 a.m. to meet other volunteers and get your project assignments.

Registration for this event is required by April 25. To register, or for more information, contact the park naturalist at 573-856-4514.

This free event is sponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and supported by the Parks, Soils and Water Sales Tax.

Sam A. Baker State Park is located on Highway 143 about 4 miles north of Patterson.

Event Time: 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
