Opening Day of Trout Season

Opening day of trout season will begin and end with sirens at the park. All anglers over 15 years of age must have a state fishing permit, and a daily trout tag can be purchased at the park store. Daily limit is four trout. To keep brown trout, the fish must be 15 inches or larger. There is no minimum length limit for rainbow trout. Each angler may use only a single pole or rod. Anglers who keep their trout must be identified by name and address.

Bennett Spring has three fishing zones, each based on the type of bait allowed there. Wading is permitted by anglers only. A map and more information regarding fishing rules and regulations can be obtained at the park store, located in the fishing area.

The nature center will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for visitors to warm up and enjoy exhibits. A 15-minute video sharing the history of the park will be played every hour.
