Santa Fe Trail Encampment

7/11/2020 | Arrow Rock State Historic Site | Arrow Rock, MO

This is a small one-day living history demonstration with about five or six site volunteers on the west lawn of the J. Huston Tavern. The event will feature a wagon, some period-style tents and trade goods of the type conveyed to Santa Fe from Arrow Rock and the Boonslick Country in the 1830s. The volunteers will demonstrate and explain the usage of some of the equipment and the types of conditions encountered on the Santa Fe Trail between Missouri and New Mexico.

The location and scale of the event will easily permit social distancing. Visitors are encouraged to wear face masks when visiting in the encampment.
