Tuesdays @ 2: 300 Miles of Tunnels!

6/23/2015 | Missouri State Museum | Jefferson City, MO

From June 2 through Aug. 22, the Missouri State Museum is once again hosting a fun twist on summer programming. “Tuesdays @ 2" is a series of interactive programs exploring various aspects of Missouri's cultural and natural history specifically focused on age groups 8 to 12 years using more activity-based programming. For similar-themed programming for younger children, please see our regular "Learning @ 11" programs for age groups 4 to 7. The programs will be held on the first floor of the State Capitol. Program time: 2 p.m. - 2:45 p.m.

300 Miles of Tunnels!: Most people do not even know about the mining industry in Missouri.  Industrial mining in Missouri started in 1700s when lead was discovered in the southeastern part of the state. We are going to “dig deep” to explore miles of tunnels, and maybe find some treasure of our own.
