Bison Hike

2/7/2015 | Prairie State Park | Mindenmines, MO

It is still winter, but spring is not that far off. We will explore the prairie while learning about bison. The prairie in winter can be a great place for solitude. Don't forget your cameras! Be prepared for a 2-mile hike over uneven terrain. Bringing water, snacks, a hat and sunscreen and wearing sturdy shoes is recommended. Binoculars will be useful in looking at bison as well as other wildlife that we may see. Dress for the weather, the prairie winds can be rather nasty this time of year.
