Robert Schultz was employed in chemical research for 35 years at Monsanto Co. in St. Louis. Upon retirement, he served as an adjunct instructor in history at East Central College in Union, Missouri, for 15 years. Schultz holds a doctorate degree in chemistry master’s degree in history. He has authored four books and edited three others. He has served as editor of the St. Charles County Heritage, the quarterly journal of the St. Charles County Historical Society, for 30 years. He has published numerous articles on Missouri history, postal history and the Civil War. He has presented adult education programs on the Civil War in Missouri and on the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
