Castlewood State Park Has Secrets to Tell

5/26/2013 | Castlewood State Park | Ballwin, MO

The park has received many questions about the various structures hikers encounter throughout the park as well as requests for a guided interpretive hike of our cultural and natural history.  This event is exactly that! The interpretive program begins at the bottom of old Ridge Road (Lone Wolf Trailhead)  and ends at the old water tower base along Lone Wolf Trail. The program will include pictures of the park from the 1920s, diagrams from very early natural history, a 1920s song, a game that children may have played here in the 1920s and a "treasure hunt" of old stairs  that once led to two cabins.
