Spring on the Farm

4/20/2013 | Watkins Woolen Mill State Historic Site | Lawson, MO

Spring has come to the Watkins farm. Join us for a day filled with fun and learning! Witness 1870s-style sheep shearing and enjoy a display of livestock. Take a stroll through our heirloom garden while 1870s attired interpreters prepare the raised beds and plant vegetable seeds saved from our heirloom plants the year before. Other activities will include toy making, wood stove cooking, rag doll making, blacksmithing and more. Tours of the woolen mill will be available for a fee. The Mount Vernon Church and Franklin school will be open. There will be no admission charge for the event itself.
