02/01/2012 to 02/29/2012 | Mark Twain Birthplace State Historic Site | Florida, MO
During February, the historic site will feature this traveling exhibit, which was prepared by the Missouri State Museum in collaboration with William Woods University.
Every Saturday during February, watch the movie " Ruby Bridges," a Disney true story about a little girl whose stength and dignity during the racially charged 1960s helped change history. When bright six-year-old Ruby is chosen to be the first African-American student to integrate her local New Orleans elementary school, she is subjected to the true ugliness of racism fo the first time. Guided by the love of her mother and father, her struggles for a better education become a lesson for all.
