The Missouri Department of Natural Resources' Division of State Parks contracts for the operation of its concession facilities (such as marinas, cabins, dining lodges, etc.) in state parks and historic sites with private companies or individuals through the competitive sealed bid process known as the Request for Proposal (RFP). As contracts expire, individuals and companies are invited to bid on new concession opportunities.

Thousand Hills State Park | Washington State Park
Thousand Hills State Park with Optional Long Branch State Park
There is a unique concession opportunity to bid on one or two concessions for Thousand Hills State Park near Kirksville and Long Branch State Park near Macon.
The concession opportunity at Thousand Hills State Park includes a marina/convenience store, watercraft rentals and 128 open slips available for rent and a swim beach with concession space. The restaurant (dining lodge) overlooking Forest Lake will seat 150 guests and provide meeting room space. There are 14 duplex units with satellite TV and kitchens available in some units.
The concession opportunity at Long Branch State Park includes a 16-slip marina, potential for watercraft rental and a convenience store in development. The Long Branch State Park concession is an option in the Thousand Hills State Park concession opportunity bid.
Bid packages will be sent out to all interested parties in late summer. A pre-bid conference at Thousand Hills State Park Dining Lodge will be held at a time and date to be announced in the bid package.

Washington State Park, De Soto, Mo.
The concession opportunity at Washington State Park consists of a park store, 11 cabins with fully equipped kitchens, a swimming pool with concession stand, and watercraft rental.
This 2,148-acre state park retains many of its original buildings constructed in a rustic architectural style in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps' stonemasons. A visit to Washington State Park is sure to be a memorable experience for anyone. The Indian rock carvings (petroglyphs) found in the park are a favorite attraction to young and old alike along with the many hiking trails.
