A concrete boat launch is located one-fourth mile north of the park entrance. There are no launch fees or motor restrictions on Big Lake.
Fishing is permitted anywhere on the lake. Bass, catfish, crappie and blue gill are all found in Big Lake.
An open picnic shelter with electricity is located in the day-use area and can be reserved for $35 per day. If not reserved, the shelter is available for free on a first-come, first-served basis. Shelter capacity is approximately 75 guests per outing. To inquire about reserving the shelter, please call 660-442-3770.
There are playgrounds in both the main day-use area and the campground.
A conference room furnished with tables and chairs is available for meetings, reunions, etc. Room occupancy is limited to approximately 50 guests. It is open from the end of April to the Sunday after Thanksgiving and you can begin booking for the entire season on Jan. 2. A swimming pool, with hot showers and a changehouse, is located near the modern two-story motel overlooking the lake. Check the concessionaire's website for information on pool hours, swimming lessons and water aerobics.
