The following areas are temporarily closed due to hazardous conditions from winter weather:
- Allison Point Road
- Allison Point Day-Use Area
All other areas of the park are open under normal off-season hours.
Due to the low water level in the lake, the Pittsburg Marina boat ramp is temporarily closed.
The north entrance and Hill and Overlook roads are temporarily closed due to hazardous conditions from winter weather.
The frost-free water spigots in Mississippi River Campground are temporarily turned off as part of a wellhouse improvement project. There is no water available in the campground.
Hidden Springs Trail is closed until approximately March 20 to allow for renovations. Winter weather conditions have prevented completion by the initial estimated date of Feb. 28.
The wooden boardwalk portion of Dell Rim Trail is temporarily closed for construction that will widen this section. Signs are posted to alert trail users as they approach the closed area. There are no detours to get around this closure, which is below the water tower.
Big Sugar Creek Day Use Areas are closed until further notice for construction and repairs.
Portion of Coyote Trail are under construction and temporarily closed. While hikers can still use part of the trail, they will only be able to hike in and back out on the same section.
Guests should be aware of large construction equipment and/or large trucks traveling through the park and within the park's boundaries due to a construction project along SE 150th Road and along portions of the McAdoo Trail. The Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline Company is replacing the existing pipeline that stretches through the southern half of the park.
Caution is advised when on the south end of Paved Bicycle Trail through March 2015. Repair work is being done which may cause temporary detours along that portion of the trail.
While pets are allowed in most outdoor areas of the park, they are not allowed on the trail to the shut-Ins. When in allowed areas, pets and their owners must comply with standard rules.
Food and disposable containers are not allowed on the trail to the shut-ins. This includes disposable drink containers. Please plan ahead to have a non-disposable, drinking water container with you for your trip.
Coyote Campground is closed through March 2015 to allow for installation of a culvert tube. Badger and Puma campgrounds remain open.
