Three bridges will be replaced on the Katy Trail this fall, one at MM 105.7 near Rhineland, one at MM 93.5 near Gore and one at MM 77.4 just east of Marthasville. Anticipated reopening of the bridges has changed due to some weather delays. The bridges at MM 105.7 and MM 93.5 are expected to reopen on Dec. 19, and the bridge at MM 77.4 by Dec. 26.....

The paved road that passes in from of Cabin 1 and leads to the gate at the old Shut-Ins Road is temporarily closed. Large pieces of the paved were destroyed during spring flooding.

Access to the cabins is not impacted by this closure. Big Creek can be accessed from other parking lots.

Due to the unique and rare diversity of life preserved at Prairie State Park, pets are not allowed on park trails.  A bison herd of more than 100 head freely graze the park, and this regulation protects both you and your pet.  You are welcome to bring your pet to the park’s campground and picnic area, but must follow Missouri State Park’s pet rules, available here.  This applies to all types of pets except service animals assisting people with disabilities.

Visitors can expect delays due to construction on the new Missouri River bridge on Hwy. 40/61 and on Hwy. 109 near the Hwy. 100 overpass.  Overpass closures and lane restrictions may slow down traffic.

The steel bridge over Little Bonne Femme Creek on Springbrook Trail remains closed due to flood damage.  Once repairs can be completed, the bridge will be reopened.

The boat ramp remains closed due to extremely low lake levels. All other areas of the park remain open under normal operations.
